Style: Light-bodied White Vintage: 2016 ABV: 13%
Appellation: Pays d'Oc Varietal: Marsanne
Region: Languedoc-Roussillon County: France
Pairings: Marsanne is an incredibly versatile and food friendly wine. It goes beautifully with all types of seafood from delicate shellfish to rich fish, crab, and lobster. It pairs perfectly with chicken and pork, salads, light summer pastas, veal, and even works well with spicy Asian cuisine.
Avoid pairing fruity desserts, such as a berry or lemon tart. The sweetness and the acidity will make the wine taste limpid.
Cheese Pairings: Many styles of cheese both hard and soft. Try with sheep’s milk cheeses such as Manchego, Pecorino, or Haloumi.
About This Wine: At the edge of the Mediterranean sea, the Oppidum Romain d’Ensérune dominates the terroir of the Ensédune wines. It is characterized by one of the warmest and dryest climates of France located at the west of Béziers. Proud of a thousand-year-old tradition, the Ensérune winegrowers were keen to develop their vineyards by acclimatizing grape varieties from various horizons. Created by teamwork, the Ensédune range is the product of generations of collaboration by winegrowers and presents unusual grape varieties for monovarietal wines. Mineral, rich, fine aromas, peach and citrus fruits, floral notes of acacia, honeysuckle, jasmine, and hawthorn. Concentrated aromas on the palate.
