2021 was a vintage marked by the vagaries of nature. Spring cold snaps set the tone, followed by sustained rainfall throughout the growing cycle, accentuating sanitary pressure on the Merlots. The warming in the last part of the season then allowed a good ripening of the grapes, especially the Cabernets.

This generally “cool” summer provided the grapes with good acidity, making the wines pleasant, fruity and aromatic. Our selections of rosé wines come from dedicated plots, harvested later this year, in the last fortnight of September. The direct pressings took place after very short macerations under controlled atmosphere, in order to obtain this pale pink color but while gaining fatness and smoothness in the mouth.

Tasting Notes

Clarendelle Bordeaux Rosé 2021, keeps a pale salmon color, but which remains brilliant.
The nose is explosive giving way to beautiful notes of fresh exotic fruits, between lychee and grenadine. The wine is built, balanced with a soft tannic structure. On the palate there are notes of menthol, liquorice, accompanied by peppery flavors brought by the cabernets, but also the exoticism of grapefruit. While keeping its beautiful tangy freshness, the pleasure is tasty, fat and long in the mouth.
